Listing products on ScentSearch

Last updated: September 11, 2026

ScentSearch helps people find fragrance by what they want to smell rather than by brand. Someone searching cedar and bergamot, or something warm for a bedroom, sees products from every merchant we carry — ranked by how well the notes match.

We index several thousand products across perfume, cologne, candles, fragrance oils, diffusers, room sprays and body care.

No listing fee. No paid placement. No sponsored rankings.

We work with merchants through affiliate networks and earn a commission when someone buys through a link. Brands don't pay us to be listed, and search rank cannot be bought — our ranking reads a product's name, its scent notes and its brand, and nothing else. There is no commission figure anywhere in the system for it to read.

Awin

We take new partners on Awin. If you already run a programme there, you can find us in the publisher directory — search for ScentSearch, publisher ID 3025937.

Not on Awin yet? Brands start at awin.com/us/advertisers.

On a different network? Tell us which — we handle those case by case.

Either way, send a note to [email protected] with your merchant ID and feed details. Network applications sit in a queue, and a direct message is what actually gets you looked at.

Approval on a network is not the same as appearing in search

We'd rather say that here than let you find out.

Every merchant we carry has a purpose-built importer that reads their product data and maps it into our note vocabulary. Feeds vary enormously — some publish top, heart and base notes as structured fields; some publish a paragraph of marketing copy with the notes buried in it; some publish nothing at all and we read the product pages instead.

That work is manual, per merchant, which is why we onboard deliberately rather than bulk-importing whatever a network offers.

The easiest feeds to work with provide:

If your feed doesn't carry notes but you have them internally, send the spreadsheet. A CSV with top, heart and base notes per product cuts the mapping work substantially, and it's the single thing that most shortens onboarding.

What we won't list

Brands usually send the whole feed. What we drop:

What we publish alongside the catalogue

We write long-form guides on fragrance and candle making — how wax, wicks, vessels and fragrance oils interact, what IFRA standards actually require, and what the research does and doesn't establish about scent and mood.

Every claim is either sourced to a primary document or marked as unsourced — and you can see which. Where suppliers contradict each other, we show the disagreement rather than picking a side. We don't write sponsored content, and we don't review products in exchange for anything.

That applies to merchants we earn from. If the public record requires naming one — a recall, a regulatory action — we name it.

If that's not the kind of site you want your products on, better to know now.

What we'd want to know

One thing we're not

ScentSearch is not a storefront. We don't hold stock, take payment, ship, or handle customer service. Clicks leave on your URL and the sale is yours.
